Prolotherapy is one of the first line of injection treatment suggested by Dr. Lye for joint, ligament, tendon injury and pain. This therapy involves the injection of dextrose, lidocaine and saline in the area to help induce mild irritation to create an environment for the body to heal itself. Similar to PRP facial and hair rejuvenation, PRP join injection involves the use of your own body's platelet rich plasma in order to expedite for the healing process of your body. The treatment involves the drawing of your blood, processing it to retrieve the platelet-rich components and injecting the PRP mixture back into the joint to stimulate healing. As with many treatments, the effectiveness and results of the treatments will depend on each individual patient and their body.
PRP microneedling treatments are suggested to be done every 4-6 weeks. This is the optimal amount of time to help rebuild collagen in the face.
PRP scalp injections for hair growth are also suggested to do every 4-6 weeks. The PRP scalp injections require at least 4 treatments for noticeable results.
PRP joint injections will be most patient specific. Sometimes a one time joint injection will help alleviate joint pain. Some patients may require a few treatments to achieve the same results. PRP joint injections will require the patient to consult with our doctors prior to treatment.

With any treatment, there are slight discomforts but we will do our best to minimize any pain by applying numbing cream and pain reducing techniques.

There really is no down time after the PRP microneedling treatment or PRP scalp injections. We do suggest avoiding sunlight and strenuous workouts for 24-48 hours but patients are able to enjoy their days as normal otherwise. There will be slight redness on the first days after the PRP facial and application of sunblock is the main thing we suggest as a post treatment protocol.
